What was the highlight of Home Phutoey River Kwai Hotspring & Nature Resort
A lovely place to relax in a natural setting.
This hotel nestles beside the river, not far from Hellfire Pass. Whilst it is in a remote location the hotel offers all services and operated to a good standard. We loved the extra luxury offered by the rooms with an onsen attached.
A shame that the Weary Dunlop museum is so run down. The various buildings provide an excellent insight into the conditions of wartime prisoners but there is little evidence of regular maintenance.

Natural and balanced resort. Stunning location. Hot spring pool was great. Good value for money.

What was the highlight of Home Phutoey River Kwai Hotspring & Nature Resort
Overall a nice place to stay but in need of maintenance.
We stayed in the off season as there were very few people staying at the resort when we arrived. The room was clean and the pool was wonderful. It does not over look the River Kwai in case you are wondering. It actually over looks a small lake on the facility. Overall a nice place to stay. The staff was warm and inviting and I am glad we had the chance to stay.
I would recommend to the facility to power wash the walk ways and spray the facility for insects. The second you walk outside you are sure to be eaten alive. They should also power wash the lake equipment as it looked dirty and out of date including the safety equipment.

Beautiful Resort with Helpful Staff - but Beware of Chlorine!
There are many, many reasons to love this resort - especially the amazing riverside location and the comfortable rooms. We were very happy that the staff went to great lengths to accommodate our dietary requests (vegetarian / gluten-free), though we were a little disappointed that the breakfast buffet was very meat-dominant, which even regular meat-eaters might find a bit heavy first thing in the morning. We stayed in a private onsen villa, and the room was charming (the view was incredible). Our one and only real negative was that in both the private onsen in the room and the main hot spring pool in the resort (next to the regular swimming pool), chlorine is used in the water. As hot spring enthusiasts (we have travelled to more than a thousand around the world), we have to say that this is exceptionally unusual, entirely unnecessary and also completely negates the beneficial effects of the minerals in the thermal water. Thermal water constantly flowing into (and out of) a pool/tub should have no artifical chemicals added, and none of the nearby local hot springs in the region that we visited were doing this...so I'd encourage the resort to stop using chlorine and allow guests to enjoy a totally natural thermal experience.
