What was the highlight of Home Phutoey River Kwai Hotspring & Nature Resort
A lovely place to relax in a natural setting.
This hotel nestles beside the river, not far from Hellfire Pass. Whilst it is in a remote location the hotel offers all services and operated to a good standard. We loved the extra luxury offered by the rooms with an onsen attached.
A shame that the Weary Dunlop museum is so run down. The various buildings provide an excellent insight into the conditions of wartime prisoners but there is little evidence of regular maintenance.

Serene Retreat with a Startling Surprise
Our stay at Home Phutoey River Resort was an absolute retreat into nature. The serene sounds of nature—birds chirping and the soothing flow of the river—created a peaceful atmosphere that we thoroughly enjoyed. The hot springs were a highlight, offering a perfect way to unwind and relax. The experience was so calming that we wished we could have extended our stay to explore more of the activities available. The staff provided excellent service, always attentive and accommodating, which added to the overall positive experience. This resort is a true gem for anyone looking to disconnect and recharge in a tranquil, natural setting. We can't wait to return!
While our stay at Home Phutoey River Resort was mostly enjoyable, we did have a concerning experience. When we inquired about the presence of snakes, we were assured there were none. However, during our time at the viewpoint, while we were enjoying the beautiful river view, we spotted a long snake. This unexpected encounter was quite frightening and dampened our sense of safety. It’s something to be mindful of for future guests who might have similar concerns.

What was the highlight of Home Phutoey River Kwai Hotspring & Nature Resort
The waterfalls in the area is a must-visit. It’s an 800 meter walk from the reception area.
Surprisingly, we were informed of a waterfalls within the area (only guests have access to it) and we had it all to ourselves. I’ll let the pictures speak for itself. It was the highlight of our 4 day trip to Kanchanaburi.
The path that leads to the resort from the main road should be improved. There are numerous potholes. Driving back uphill was really a risky experience because of how steep some parts are and note that there are many blind/ sharp curves along the path. I hope they could find a way to at least setup blind spot mirrors on the road and fill in those potholes.
